What’s Up
Walk-In

We’re Toronto’s free, six-day-a-week mental health counselling walk-in service for infants, children, youth, young adults and families. Therapists offer walk-in, solution-focused, single sessions. 

Who we
support

What’s Up Walk-In is designed to support the mental health needs of Toronto’s infants, children, youth and young adults under 29. 

Parents, families and caregivers may access service along with their child.

What we
cover

Sessions with therapist help with issues such as depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, sexual identity matters, bullying, behavioural concerns, addictions and anything else that might be on one’s mind.

Partners

The service is a collaborative initiative of 6 publicly funded Children and Youth Mental Health agencies that operate 8 sites in the City of Toronto.

Caribbean African Canadian Social Services (CAFCAN)

Located in North York, CAFCAN offers culturally responsive support for Caribbean and African Canadian individuals, families and communities. CAFCAN is a welcoming space where people are listened to, respected and supported in ways that reflect their lived experiences, cultures and strengths.

Centre francophone du Grand Toronto (CFGT)

CFGT supports French-speaking individuals and families in the Greater Toronto Area with services that are welcoming, accessible, and grounded in respect. CFGT offers care in French at multiple locations across the GTA that recognizes each person’s unique experiences, culture and needs, helping clients feel understood, supported and connected to the right resources for their wellbeing.

Lumenus Community Services

Lumenus provides personalized support for children, youth and families facing mental health, developmental and social challenges in Central Toronto and Etobicoke. Lumenus focuses on meeting clients where they are, listening to their experiences and helping them access the right care and resources. Their services are designed to be flexible, inclusive and supportive—so every person can feel understood, empowered, and able to thrive.

Strides Toronto

Located in Scarborough, Strides Toronto supports children, youth and families with mental health, developmental and autism services in a way that is caring, inclusive and responsive to each person’s needs. Strides Toronto listens to families, works with their strengths and helps them access the right programs and supports to feel understood, empowered and confident in their growth and wellbeing.

Yorktown Family Services

Yorktown supports children, youth and families in Toronto’s west end by providing mental health, developmental and social services that are caring, inclusive and tailored to each family’s needs. They focus on listening, understanding and empowering clients, helping them access the right supports so every child and family can feel confident, connected and supported in their wellbeing.

YouthLink

YouthLink provides support and guidance to youth in Toronto and Scarborough experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges or other barriers, helping them feel safe, heard and supported. YouthLink focuses on meeting each young person where they are, offering programs and services that build trust, resilience and connection so youth can access the resources they need to thrive.

What’s Up Walk-In is designed to support the mental health needs of Toronto’s infants, children, youth and young adults up to their 29th birthday*. Parents, families and caregivers may access service along with their child.

Single Session Therapy aims to help clients use their existing strengths, resources and coping skills to achieve identified goals in a short period of time. Brief therapy has been shown to be effective for various psychological and behavioural problems. At What’s Up Walk In, we offer single-session therapy as a way to help you make positive changes in your life.

What’s Up Walk-In service is provided by 6 agencies across 8 Toronto sites, each with their own location and hours of service.
